Nourish: Superfood Smoothie

After having a bowl of popcorn for breakfast, I thought I that my lunch should be extra-nutritious.  So, I decided on making a superfood smoothie!  Unfortunately, we were out of kale and spinach and the leafy greens had to sit-out.  However, I still had many key ingredients that did the trick!


1 cup cold Mother’s Apple Pie David’s Tea’s Green Tea

2 stalks of celery chopped

2 medium carrots chopped

1/2 cup whole blueberries

1 handful of sliced strawberries

1 medium banana quartered

1 pear sliced

1 tablespoon cacao powder

1 teaspoon flax seeds


It’s important to add the liquid first, when putting your ingredients in the blender.

*Tip* – As juices have a high sugar count, try adding liquids such as cold green tea to your smoothies.  Green tea is preventative against cancer, heart disease and high cholesterol as well as having weight loss effects.


I then added a tablespoon of cacao powder to boost your immune system and to satisfy your sugar cravings.


And a teaspoon of flax seeds to give you your omega fatty acids and fiber – aka for proper cardiovascular and immune system health, brain and joint function, soft skin and help with the elimination of toxins from your body.

Mix it all up and….


VOILA; a healthy superfood smoothie in a matter of seconds!
