Just because it’s a rainy day, doesn’t mean that your snacks can’t be bright and fun!
Here are five snacks that are perfect for thundery days!
Cut up various fresh local fruit and mix it together to make a delicious, juicy salad! Top it with coconut, honey or granola, or mix it into some yummy Greek yogurt for a heavier, more filling snack. Another option is to blend it up as a smoothie!
Whether it’s plain, buttery, sprinkled with Parmesan cheese or vinegar, or in a trail mix with nuts and dried fruit, popcorn is a healthy, easy snack that’s light for the summer, but cozy for a rainy afternoon.
Veggies and Hummus:
Chop up some crunchy veggies like celery, carrots, radish, cucumber and peppers and pair them with hummus to make for a hearty snack.
Balsamic is my absolute fav!
You can pair it with a baguette, or with watermelon cubes and feta for a quick treat.
Whether it be havarti and crackers or apple and brie, cheese can be brilliantly paired with fruit or bread to make for a fabulous snack.
Pair any of these snacks with a movie or tv marathon – I chose Gossip Girl! – and you have a perfect rainy day!
